Custom Poker Chip Labels
Why pay hundreds of dollars to have customized poker chips manufactured when can simply add labels to your existing poker chips! You can print poker labels on a laser (preferred) or ink-jet printer or purchase pre-made custom poker chip manufacturer labels from an online seller. You can stick labels on poker chips that were purchased months or years ago or you can purchase cheap composite chips with the intention of sticking labels on them. If you keep an eye out for good deals, you can buy a set of 500 composite chips (with recessed centers and edge spots!) for about 25¢ each. Add $40 for pre-printed labels and you now have 500 poker chips with custom labels and nice edge spots for $165 or about 33¢ per chip! That compares with about $1 per chip and a couple months wait for customized clay or ceramic chips.

These chips are exclusive to Ace Poker Chip Manufacturer. They are almost identical to the chips show in the previous review. These chips do not have denominations printed on them. There is a larger border around the edge of the chip and the colors are solid rather than gradient. These chips come in four colors (red, blue, green, black). There are six edge spots that do not contrast enough with the base color and can hardly be seen.

This 12.5 gram chip has a coin inlay surrounded by a soft composite resin. The feel of the composite was softer than a typical 11.5 gram composite chip made by the original manufacturer. The composite was very hard to scratch and the colors are very deep. The quality of the print and colors on these chips is outstanding. The color edges are very crisp and there is lots of detail when you look closely.
The coins look like old-time slugs. They have denominations stamped into them and are perfectly centered. It was impossible to remove the coin without destroying the chip. I dug and pried and eventually put the chip into a vise and destroyed it with a pair of pliers. The coin is one double-sided slug that is secured very firmly within the chip. It was very difficult to scratch the metal with a knife and blended in almost perfectly afterwards.
There are four multi-colored edge spots on each chip. There is also a graphical design on the top and bottom that continues through the rolling edge. This effectively doubles the number of edge spots from four to eight. This chip has rounded edges.
The chip is slippery, no doubt due to the coin inlay and there is a metallic sound to the chip although there is also a bit of a thud. There is a nice balance and feel to these chips, I enjoyed handling them.

4 Aces Poker Chip!
These 11.5 gram metal insert poker chip is very similar to most common 11.5 gram composites made by the manufacturer, the main difference being that they have a full inlay that is painted on the chip - there is no sticker. The graphics are very high quality. It was impossible to scratch the graphics with a fingernail but quite easy to scratch with a knife. When scratched, the white base color of the chip could be seen underneath.
These chips come in 13 different denominations all the way from .05¢ to $10,000. That's the most I've ever seen offered.
I was sent numerous samples of this chip. Sample diameters were 40.05, 40.00, 40.01 and 40.02mm. Three chips stacked together were 10.01mm thick.
There are eight stripes and no edge ridge on this chip. The stripes are not painted on, they are solid through the chip. There are no edge ridges on this chip. I could not see an injection mold spot.

This company makes some of the finest poker chips available to the home player. The Horsehead mold is my all-time favorite. The A Mold and Roman molds are also very nice but not quite as chiseled as the Horsehead. Both www.Pokerchips.com and Kardwell sell chips that are manufactured by ASM. Please be aware that there may be a long wait time for custom ordered chips through this manufacturer.

ANTIQUE GAMBLING POKER CHIPS
Beware of poker chips masquerading as casino chips. There is a world of difference between a "casino chip" and a "poker chip.” Poker Chips usually have on them just a picture (animal, boat, flag, design, etc.), no denomination and came in different colors. They were made through the inspiration of any chip manufacturer (no authorization was needed) and hundreds of thousands may have been
sold over the years throughout the country in retail stores and by mail order, mainly for private games. Consequently they are generally (but not always) common and inexpensive. Casino chips typically have on them the names of the casino, city and state. The casino logo and a dollar
amount; they were ordered in limited quantities by a commercial gambling establishment for gambling at table games at that place. That is authorized and made for a particular casino. They are treated like money by the casinos and are often destroyed after they are retired, in
which case the old ones that reach collectors today were bought or won
at the tables years ago and taken home. Consequently, casino chips are
often rare and valuable, particularly the higher denomination ones.Unfortunately, there is nothing now in the law to prevent anyone from selling casino-like poker chips (often called fantasy casino chips but really poker chips) as casino chips. Some poker chips are made to deceive. Some poker chips are relatively innocent but are hawked to deceive. Recently made attractive poker chips (worth about $2 each) that commemorate famous defunct casinos. They show the casino name and logo, location, dollar amounts and the opening and closing years of the casino. They are not casino chips, were never ordered or authorized by a casino, were never inside a casino and were made by chip manufacturers many years after the casinos closed are poker chips at best.
